Gennaio 2025:
PR FESR TOSCANA 2021-2027 - Progetto ITER

eHealthTech partecipates to the ITER project, an acronym for Innovation in Telemedicine E teleRehabilitation of cardiac patients.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the western world and, according to the WHO, is responsible for 17 million deaths each year. In this context, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) has a significant impact. CR is a complex, personalized, and multidimensional intervention.

In this context, the ITER project aims to develop and test at the Gabriele Monasterio Foundation of the Heart Hospital of the Fondazione Toscana an ICT platform, a medical device, with advanced technology (POHEMA) for the management of a remote process to support the management of adult and pediatric cardiac and/or post-cardiac surgery patients undergoing rehabilitation at home. It will provide innovative tools such as:

1- Detection of clinical parameters through non-invasive home monitoring, including overnight monitoring, with the possibility of skin analysis, auscultation, and echocardiograms conducted by the caregiver, to assess, for example, cardiac function and the presence of pericardial effusion, with systems capable of guiding it thanks to artificial intelligence techniques.

2 - Augmented telemedicine with voice analysis, as a biomarker to investigate emotional state and study how this can influence health.

3 - How to perform rehabilitation exercises: artificial intelligence models will evaluate their accuracy and provide feedback to the patient and the rehabilitation therapist.

4 - Lifestyle monitoring to assess any unhealthy behaviors and intervene with patient empowerment actions.

The information collected at home will be transmitted to the hospital's electronic medical record via innovative IT infrastructures, specifically a Blockchain Enterprise Service Bus (BESB). This infrastructure will leverage blockchain mechanisms to protect data integrity and track transactions, and natively implement the HL7 FHIR industry interoperability standards, also feeding into the Regional Electronic Health Record.

The collected data will be integrated with the hospital medical record and supported by a rehabilitation DSS, based on AI algorithms, and an Impact Assessment Tool that will provide, thanks also to the developed innovative modules, a detailed representation of the value of the innovation generated by the project, with an advanced multidimensional analysis perspective (clinical, organizational, economic, technological).

January 2021:
POR FESR 2020 - Project I POTERI

eHealthTech participates to the 'I POTERI' project, an acronym for Innovation in the POtentiation and TElemonitoring of the REhabilitation of post-operative cardiac patients. This is a project of technological innovation not only in telemedicine but also in the management of big data which is important from the integration of clinical data of the peri-operative period acquired in hospital systems with post-operative data acquired from the home platform.

The main purpose is the personalization and optimization of the post-surgical rehabilitation process.

The project also aims to carry out a retrospective analysis in terms of the effectiveness of the performance and adequacy of the program, thanks also to the application of data analytics algorithms and artificial intelligence techniques.
